What it is
Starkey Edge AI is a prescription hearing aid platform positioned by Starkey as its 'everyday' AI tier, sitting alongside (not replacing) the company's Omega AI Enhanced flagship and below its now largely superseded Genesis AI generation. Starkey describes Edge AI's on-device processing as modeled on how the brain's auditory cortex classifies complex soundscapes, claiming roughly 30% better speech identification than prior non-AI processing along with on-demand sound optimization. It supports LE Audio streaming and is Auracast-ready for direct audio broadcast reception in equipped public venues. Through the companion My Starkey app it also offers fall detection, exercise and cognitive-activity tracking, and balance assessment — health features unrelated to hearing itself, bundled into the same device.
