What it is
Screenpipe is a desktop application for Mac, Windows and Linux that runs in the background, continuously capturing screen content and audio, and indexing it for local search. It is built primarily to give AI coding assistants and agents context about what a user has seen, said and done, but its underlying function — always-on recording plus a local search/chat interface over the result — works as a general capture-and-recall tool. A local API and search interface let a user or another AI tool query the recorded history, for example to summarise recent meetings.
