What it is
Rogervoice is a mobile app, founded by Olivier Jeannel (deaf since age two), that transcribes both sides of a live phone call into real-time captions so a deaf or hard-of-hearing user can follow and take part in an ordinary voice call without a relay operator or a hearing companion. It supports live call captioning in over 100 languages and is available in more than 50 countries. In the United States, the service is free for residents who can document a hearing loss, funded through an FCC-administered telecommunications relay program; elsewhere it operates on a paid monthly subscription.
