On-device AI image descriptions in Windows's built-in screen reader, currently rolling out on Copilot+ PCs

What it is
Narrator, the screen reader built into Windows, includes an AI-generated image description feature. With focus on an image, chart, graph, diagram, or unlabeled button, pressing Narrator key + Ctrl + D generates a detailed spoken description. On Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PCs enrolled in the Windows Insider Program, these 'rich image descriptions' are generated by an AI model running on the device itself; on other Windows devices, Narrator continues to provide simpler image descriptions using an online service.
