What it is
A free reading-accessibility feature built into Microsoft Word, OneNote, Outlook, Teams, Forms and the Edge browser's Read Aloud/Immersive Reader mode. It adjusts text spacing, font and background colour, breaks words into syllables, highlights parts of speech, shows a picture dictionary for individual words, narrows focus to one to five lines at a time, translates content into more than 40 languages, and includes a 'Reading Coach' that listens to a student read aloud, uses speech recognition to flag misread words, and generates targeted practice passages.
