What it is
HP Hearing PRO is a self-fitting, over-the-counter hearing aid sold in an earbud form factor, built on hearing technology originally developed by Nuheara and now sold under HP Inc.'s hearing products line. Its Ear ID feature uses a short in-app hearing assessment to test the wearer's hearing threshold across frequencies in each ear individually, then automatically programs the earbuds to that profile without professional involvement. It was the first product cleared by the FDA under both the 510(k) self-fitting device pathway and the OTC hearing aid classification, and is the first FDA-cleared self-fitting OTC hearing aid with hybrid active noise cancellation. It streams Bluetooth audio and is controlled via the HP Hearing mobile app.
