What it is
Live Transcribe is an Android app, preinstalled on Pixel phones and select Android devices and downloadable from Google Play for others, that converts speech and ambient sound into real-time text displayed on screen. It also labels non-speech sounds such as laughing, clapping, or a doorbell. Downloaded language packs allow transcription to continue without an internet connection, which also reduces cellular data use.
