What it is
GoodMaps Explore (published on app stores as 'GoodMaps: Indoor Navigation') is a free iOS and Android app that provides turn-by-turn audio navigation inside indoor venues — airports, transit stations, university campuses and similar large buildings — that GoodMaps has pre-mapped using LiDAR and photographic surveys. The app uses the phone's camera and onboard sensors together with the pre-built venue map to localize the user's position and orientation without relying on GPS, which does not work reliably indoors, and delivers spoken step-by-step directions to a chosen destination within the venue.
