What it is
Glide is a wheeled mobility device from Glidance: a telescoping handle attached to a self-balancing two-wheel base that a blind or low-vision user pushes or is gently guided by while walking. Onboard cameras and sensors detect obstacles and the device physically steers left or right to avoid them, while a companion app lets the user set a destination and receive turn-by-turn guidance without needing to hold a phone. It is positioned by the company as an alternative or supplement to a white cane or guide dog for outdoor pedestrian navigation.
