What it is
A Windows desktop application that converts continuous speech into text in real time and lets a user control applications, format documents, and run voice commands hands-free. It builds a personal acoustic and language profile from the user's voice and vocabulary, and supports back-end transcription of pre-recorded audio files as well as live dictation. Now sold by Microsoft after its acquisition of Nuance.
