What it is
Be My Eyes is a mobile app that connects blind and low-vision users with sighted volunteers over live video calls. It also includes Be My AI, an in-app AI assistant built on GPT-4-class vision models: a user sends a photo and Be My AI answers questions about it in a written chat reply inside the app, in addition to volunteer calls and a 'Service Directory' that connects users to company support desks. Be My AI's first large deployment was inside Microsoft's Disability Answer Desk in 2023, where it now handles a majority of visual-support calls before optionally escalating to a live agent.
