What it is
Ava is a captioning app for Deaf and hard-of-hearing users that displays real-time, speaker-labelled captions of spoken conversation. Its base tier uses automatic speech recognition; its 'Scribe' tier routes audio to a trained human captioner for higher accuracy (booked with advance notice). Ava integrates with Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams for video calls and also captions in-person group conversation by combining multiple phones' microphones. It is available on iOS, Android, Windows, macOS and web, with individual, organisation and event pricing tiers.
