Apple Watch (Fall Detection & Crash Detection)
by Apple Inc. · US
Smartwatch that senses a hard fall using motion sensors and automatically calls emergency services if the wearer doesn't respond
What it is
Apple Watch (Series 4 and later, and Apple Watch SE and Ultra models) includes a built-in Fall Detection feature that uses the accelerometer and gyroscope, processed with an on-device algorithm, to recognise the motion signature of a hard fall. When a fall is detected, the watch taps the wearer's wrist, sounds an alarm, and displays an alert; if the wearer doesn't respond within about a minute (or is judged immobile), it automatically calls emergency services and messages the person's emergency contacts with their location. A related Crash Detection feature does the same for severe car crashes.
