What it is
Switch Control is a built-in accessibility feature on iOS, iPadOS and macOS that lets a user operate the entire device using one or more external switches — physical buttons, sip-and-puff devices, or other adaptive switch hardware — instead of touching the screen or using a mouse and keyboard. The system scans through on-screen items or a customisable grid, highlighting one option at a time, and a switch press selects whatever is currently highlighted. Any app's controls, including recording and note-taking apps, can be operated this way once switch access is set up.
