Personal Voice

Bank a voice that still sounds like you, from a short on-device recording, for free
What it is
Personal Voice is an on-device feature built into iOS, iPadOS and macOS that creates a synthetic voice modeled on a user's own speech. Users read a series of on-screen text prompts using the device microphone (as of the 2025 update, roughly 10 short phrases in under a minute; the original 2023 version required around 150 phrases and 15+ minutes). The resulting voice model is processed and stored entirely on the device, protected behind Face ID, Touch ID, or a passcode, and can optionally be synced end-to-end encrypted across a user's other Apple devices via iCloud. Once created, Personal Voice can be selected as the output voice for Live Speech, Read & Speak, VoiceOver, and third-party augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) apps that request permission to use it.
